0" Offset Philip Morley Domiplate™ ("Zero Offset Domiplate")
The Seneca Woodworking Domiplate™ is our best selling fixed fence solution designed for the Festool Domino DF 500 mortising tool. With a fixed offset built into each side, it eliminates the possibility of error due to 'fence drift' and greatly speeds the setup of the Domino for mortising, saving you time and money from misaligned mortises.
This version of the Domiplate was a special request and collaboration with furniture maker and woodworking educator Phil Morley out of Wimberly, Texas. He wanted a Domiplate with a 0" offset for a project he was building, and we realized it was something we should make available for everyone.
Resting the Domino and your workpiece flat on your bench is one way to make mortises accurately and it's a workflow that's used by many woodworkers. Placing mortises with a known offset relative to the Domino base is a great technique if you're trying to locate a shelf or divider accurately in the middle of a large panel when building bookcases. However, if you have a workpiece that's too large or awkward to put on a bench for mortising, the 0" Offset Domiplate will allow you to still use the bottom of the Domino as reference and easily make mortises in workpieces that won't fit on your bench.
The Domiplate™ comes with two captive screws and a textured ball knob for a secure, comfortable grip during use.
