The Festool Domino DF 500 is a versatile tool, but occasionally we find that when joining thin stock, the mortise depth limit setting doesn't stop shallow enough. So we created our Mortise Depth Spacers for the Domino DF 500. This set of spacers will let you fine tune the mortise depth from 11mm down to 1mm  in 1mm increments, making sure that you can get a secure joint without worrying about your mortise blowing out the opposite side of your workpiece.

Have you ever run out of Domino tenons in the middle of a project? Now you have more options: The 4mm Domino cutter is shorter than the rest of the Domino cutters, so that it can easily be used to join 1/2" plywood without blowing out the other side.    However what happens if you run out of 4mm tenons or break your only 4mm cutter in the middle of a project? 5mm tenons can easily be substituted but the longer length of the 5mm cutter means it will cut too deep on the shallowest setting. With the Mortise Depth Spacers, you can set the Domino plunge depth to a lower limit and use 5mm tenons in 1/2" (12mm) plywood easily!

To use: Just choose the spacer with the depth you need and snap it onto the Domino guide tube. The spacer will prevent the Domino from plunging any deeper than you want it to... making sure none of your mortises tear through the opposite side of the material and making your joinery come together even faster!

This item includes 11 Mortise Depth Spacers ranging from 1mm to 11mm in 1mm increments for the Festool Domino DF 500. These are 3D printed from PETG plastic on a FDM 3D printer.

Want to get this Tool in your shop instantly and for "FREE?"

The Mortise Depth Spacers are a new tool available to order from our website that are produced on a FDM 3D printer. We realize not every tool needs to be precision CNC machined from aluminum or steel; sometimes the best tool is the one that gets the job done the fastest. We're launching a website of downloadable tools that you can print at home on your own 3D printer. The Mortise Depth Spacers will be the first of many tools we'll be offering on that site.

Ok so maybe 3D printing isn't technically "free" or instantaneous, but it's fast and cheap and about as close as you can get, and we think it's an important technology to have in your shop.
